The scope of the Flood Emergency Response System encompasses the following key components:

  • Development of a Point of Contact Module: Establishing a centralized communication hub for all stakeholders.
  • Integration of Geo-Location Data: Mapping critical entities such as Divisional Secretaries, Grama Niladharis, District Secretaries, Temples, Rescue Camps, Schools, Police Stations, Volunteers, and Hospitals to facilitate resource allocation and coordination.
  • Creation of a Geographic Information System (GIS) Decision-Making Platform: Utilizing GIS to analyze flood-prone areas, resource distribution, and evacuation routes.
  • Integration of Weather Reports and Monitoring: Incorporating real-time data on rainfall, cloud coverage, and other weather parameters to enhance preparedness and response.
